| Women's Gymnastics Head Coach - Jean
DeLisle
Jean DeLisle enters her second season as the head gymnastics coach at UW-Eau Claire. DeLisle will lead a team that returns eight letterwinners including 2003 national champion and 2004 All-American Lynn Morris on the balance beam and three-time All-American Alison Eagles.
The 2003-04 saw the Blugolds break every school team and individual scoring record. At the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships the Blugolds finished second behind eventual national champion UW-La Crosse. The finish marked the second consecutive season marking the best school finish in a two-year span since the Blugolds finished second in 1978 and 1979. The Blugolds qualified as a team for the 2004 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships for the second straight season for the first time since accomplishing the same task in 1985 and 1986.
Individually the Blugolds took second, third and fourth place in the all-around at the 2004 WIAC championships. Lynn Morris posted three top-five finishes and Alison Eagles became a two-time conference champion on the vault. At the NCGA Nationals in Boston, Massachusetts Eagles received All-American status in the all-around while Morris earned All-American honors on the beam.
Prior to Eau Claire DeLisle was the head gymnastics coach at UW-River Falls from 1992-2002. During that team DeLisle coached the Falcons to two second places finishes at the WIAC Gymnastics Championships in 1993 and 2002. The Falcons qualified for the NCGA Championships as a team both of those seasons. Individually DeLisle coached five conference champions and nine All-Americans including national champion Merilee Healy on the balance beam in 1995.
DeLisle is a graduate of UW-River Falls where she received her bachelor's degree in physical education in 1987. She and husband Jack have two children, son Jacque and daughter Paris.
