GYMNASTICS TEAM ANNOUNCES TEAM AWARDS
The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team recently held their annual awards banquet and announced the award winners shortly thereafter.
The Most Valuable Gymnast Award went to Alison Eagles (So.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View). At this year's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships Eagles set the school record in both the floor exercise and all-around competitions. In the floor exercise Eagles scored a 9.600 and finished the all-around competition with a score of 37.100. At the Division III National Championships held in Eau Claire this year Eagles earned All-American honors in the vault with her total score of 18.700.
The Most Improved Award went to Gina Hinderman (Fr.-Cuba City). Hinderman was part of two record-setting team efforts in the vault and balance beam competitions at the Aloha Invite. In the vault she contributed to the record score of 36.125 and in the balance beam she was part of the record effort of 36.050
The Hardest Worker Award went to Jessica Pink (Sr.-Monticello, MN). Pink had numerous good efforts in the floor exercise throughout the year. Her scores of 9.425 in both the Jefferson Classic Invite and the UW-Oshkosh dual were team highs.
Erin Henrich (Sr.-Spring Valley) was the recipient of the Most Helpful Award while Leah Ittner (Fr.-Minneapolis, MN/South) was given the Best Attitude Award.
