Blugold Athletics Band

The Blugold Athletic Band is a pep band ensemble that attends a majority of the Men’s and Women’s home Basketball games. The BAB plays a mix of popular music and cheer music to support the teams.

Requirements:

The Blugold Athletic Band is looking for students who love to play their instruments and attend Basketball games. The BAB attends most of the Home games of the Women and Men’s Basketball games. The BAB is low commitment and a whole lot of fun.

The ability to play an instrument is a must, but there will be no specific requirement pertaining to playing level. Instrumental rentals will be available for instruments that the Department of Music possesses.

Rehearsals:

·         Our first rehearsal will be November 8th from 4pm-5:30pm in HFA 139 (Band Room). The following will be the rehearsal schedule:  

·         Wed. Nov. 11th  4:30-5:30pm                                       HFA 190

·         Thurs. Nov. 12th 4:30-5:30pm                                     HFA 155

·         Wed. Nov. 18th 4:30-5:30pm                                        HFA 155

·         Thurs. Nov. 19th  4:30-5:30pm                                    HFA 155

·         Wed. Dec. 2nd   5:30 Call time at Haas Fine Arts     HFA 190

*Call time will be 1 hour before game time for all BAB games after December 2nd*

Music:


In order for these rehearsals to be productive, it is imperative that everyone looks over their music. While we will run through music, we do not have time to continually play through the music. If you want to play a substantial amount of music at games, we have to play them ahead of time to see how they sound.

Everyone will be provided with a packet of Music. This will be yours to keep and the only copy provided to you. We will be utilizing flip-folders, which are your responsibility to have. If you need one, bring $5 to the first rehearsal and we will order one for you. We will also be taking down shirt sizes for the BAB uniform shirt.

 

Shirts

To help offset the cost of shirts, every BAB member will pay a $3 fee to help pay for shirts. The shirts will cost roughly $12, but the BAB will be paying the majority of the cost of the shirts. PLEASE bring $3 to the first rehearsal.
