AMA - American Marketing Association

AMA is a student-run professional business organization that offers students the opportunity to learn necessary skills and leadership to prepare for a future in the business world. The Eau Claire chapter of the American Marketing Association is geared toward students pursuing a career path in marketing; we extend our welcome to all majors on campus, however. Our prime activities include bi-weekly, professional general meetings, community service opportunities, social events, the annual Fun Run, and various other networking opportunities on campus and in the community.

The UWEC AMA organization allows for students of any major to learn more about marketing and get involved on campus and in the community. AMA is involved in many activities and helps by raising money to support the Special Olympics through year round bowling, basketball, and gymnastics tournaments in the fall, the Polar Plunge in the winter, and the 5K FunRun in the spring! Along with community service events AMA hosts other fun events which sometimes include other organizations on campus such as having Famous Dave come in and speak on campus.

There are even a few events for new members, like the open house, new member dinner, and buddy bowling. These events help new members get to know other general members and the directors and e-board members of AMA. Other fun events for our members is the hayride and semi-formal.

This past year the UWEC AMA organization participated in the international AMA competition in March. Our chapter had the opportunity to travel to New Orleans and learn more about other AMA organizations. It is a great way to learn more about the organization and presents new ideas to the organization!

Being in AMA is one of the best experiences any college student can have. In fact, in the Spring of 2006, it was noted that AMA was voted as the best organization on campus! Not only will the American Marketing Association help you learn more about your major, but AMA will also help you network, meet new people, find job opportunities, and have fun!
