Kaiser receives named professorship at Cornell

Harry Kaiser '79Harry Kaiser was named the Gellert Family Professor of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University in May 2008. This prestigious named professorship, established by Cornell alumnus George Gellert, carries an endowment to be used for research and teaching purposes.

Kaiser, who received a bachelor's degree in economics from UW-Eau Claire in 1979, has been a professor at Cornell since 1985 and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in price analysis and marketing. He is a nationally renowned scholar in the economics of generic advertising and promotion, and has authored over 100 peer review journal articles and three books. Harry will be on sabbatical from Cornell in the fall 2008 and plans to write a book on optimization models in applied economics and will travel extensively.
