Wine tasting at Mona Lisa's Restaurant, Eau Claire

UW-Eau Claire alumni are invited to attend a wine tasting at Mona Lisa's Restaurant, 428 Water St., Eau Claire, on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Please join us for this pre-Valentine's alumni gathering and an examination of difference between Old World and New World varietals, emphasized by food pairings with Latino inspired cuisine. The cost: $25 per person, includes refreshments, appetizers and a chance for a great Blugold door prizes. Hosted by UW-Eau Claire Alumni Association. UW-Eau Claire and Eau Claire Ski Strider spaghetti dinner

Please join us for an evening honoring the amazing folks from UW-Eau Claire and others who helped organize, plan and ski the very first American Birkebeiner. The tradition continues, and alumni are invited to enjoy this gathering of skiing enthusiasts in advance of the 36th annual American Birkebeiner and Kortelopet. Join us on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 5:30-9 p.m. (predinner program at 6 p.m.) in the Council Fire Room of Davies Center. A spaghetti dinner will be served. Get your tickets early — they will go fast! UW-Eau Claire Concert Choir performance and alumni gathering, Kennedy Center-CANCELLED, Washington, D.C.

UW-Eau Claire's Concert Choir will perform at the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Choral Festival at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16. The event is in celebration of the 200th birthday of Abraham Lincoln. Tickets for the concert are available at the Kennedy Center box office or online at www.kennedy-center.org/tickets. The choir also will perform the Choral Evensong at the National Cathedral on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 3:30 p.m.

UW-Eau Claire Univeristy Recreation Ice Fishing Contest at Lake Altoona

This hot Winter Carnival event is your opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and friends Wisconsin style. Ice fishing is more than "staring in a hole." Come check out the electric atmosphere with your friends. Your entry fee will include: free raffle drawings, food, snow volleyball, cross country skiing, ice skating, FUN, and of course our lucky contest winners!!! We caught some great fish last year!!!!

"Let's Do Lunch" noon-hour lecture series

The February session of the "Let's Do Lunch" noon-hour lecture series sponsored by the UW-Eau Claire Alumni Association will feature Dr. Joseph Hupy, UW-Eau Claire assistant professor of geography and anthropology. Dr. Hupy will speak from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Phoenix area golf outing and buffet

The Peoria Golf Outing and Buffet will be Saturday, March 14, at West Brook Village Vistas Golf Course, West Union Hills and Country Club Lane (86th Ave.), Peoria, Ariz. Prizes will be awarded. If golf isn't your forte, you can still join the fun by attending the picnic buffet that starts at 3:30 p.m. The cost for the golf outing is $56 per person, and the picnic buffet is $10 per adult and $5 per child (age 4-12).
