Jennifer M. (Olstad) Wall '02 and Adam M. Wall '01
Where and how did you meet at UW-Eau Claire? We met in the fall of 1998 at several house parties and other social gatherings. Adam was good friends with a good friend of mine from high school. For the next few years we were just more acquaintances than anything, but it was always nice to see a familiar face on campus.
Was it a “love connection” from the start? It was definitely not a love connection right from the start. He seemed like a “nice” guy, but he was just “Wall.” He pretty much felt the same way about me. It was just another fun person to party — I mean, study — with. It was definitely worth the wait to start dating, though.
Is there a place on campus that is special for the two of you? Unfortunately we don’t have a specific special place for us on campus as our relationship didn’t start until we both lived in the Twin Cities. We did have the same favorite bar, though, so we laugh about that. You’ve got to love the Pio!
What is your fondest memory as a couple that connects you to UW-Eau Claire? Although our romantic relationship didn’t begin until we had been out of college for a few years, there is still definitely a UW-Eau Claire connection tied to our relationship. We have so many common friends from school and so many great memories. We were both finance majors but never had a class together (although we even had the same favorite professors!). I guess our fondest memory that connects us to UW-Eau Claire is Adam’s birthday party several years ago. It was 99 percent UW-Eau Claire alumni, and it is where Adam asked me on our first date. We have been together ever since, and we have been surrounded by those same great people.
If you are married, when did you tie the knot? We were married Oct. 13, 2007, in Baldwin, Wis., and now reside in Golden Valley, Minn. We both work in the financial services industry in downtown Minneapolis.
