Dave Suchla '69 and Jeanette Hatfield Suchla '70

Where and how did you meet at UW-Eau Claire? Dave's cousin was Jeanette's roommate and she introduced us.

Was it a “love connection” from the start?  No, not until a year later.

Who made the first move?  Dave. He helped carry Jeanette's belongings up to the dorm room on "moving-in day."

Is there a place on campus that's special for the two of you?  Crest Commons — our first date, and Towers parking lot — our first kiss!

What is your fondest memory as a couple that connects you to UW-Eau Claire? Because we fell in love while going to UW-Eau Claire, we have tried to stay connected to the university through attendance at concerts and athletic events, and by establishing a scholarship fund to help students from our home towns attend UW-Eau Claire.
