Ryan Krause '02 and Katie (Cook) Krause '02

Where and how did you meet while students at UW-Eau Claire? Well, technically we both went to the same high school but didn’t really know each other very well. Then college came and we were doing our own thing, when one Friday night at a house party Ryan came walking down the stairs and Katie immediately went over to him and said, “I didn’t know you went to school here.” Ryan responded by saying that he played on the football team, and then we talked ALL night at the party and became instant best friends. We even dated one or two of each other's friends. We ended up having the same group of friends and did a LOT together before we started dating.

Was it a “love connection” from the start? We definitely had a connection but it was more of a friend connection. Then we both realized it was more than that when we became jealous of each other dating our friends!!!!!

Is there a place on campus that is special for the two of you? The house party we were at, of course (cannot remember the address), Sutherland Hall, Towers, Eau Claire in general!!!!!

What is your fondest memory as a couple that connects you to UW-Eau Claire? I guess it would have to be that we both graduated in the same ceremony in the spring of 2002. Here we were both from the same hometown and it just so happened we were leaving Eau Claire at the same time.
