Anne (Dischinger) Klees '02 and Drew Klees '02

We met in Bridgman Hall. Drew lived in the overflow basement and Anne lived on the fourth floor. Anne was a sophomore while Drew was a freshman. We did not start dating until 2001. We were friends with the same group of people throughout college and often saw each other. After the dorms, Drew lived at 632 Menomonie and Anne lived at 425 Niagara.
During the spring of 2001, fate brought us closer together as we walked to class together on the path by the river. We happened to meet up at the exact place on the path every day, thanks to fate ... or maybe to the fact that we're both punctual people. We studied together at the library and soaked in the hot tub at the Ramada along with other friends. Drew also came to visit Anne while she worked at Grand Avenue Café — that will always be a special place for us.
Finally in May 2001, Drew called one day and asked Anne if she wanted to go on a "real date." We had dinner at the Olive Garden and saw the movie "Traffic" at Oakwood Mall — the rest is history.
The thing that really connects us to UW-Eau Claire is that a lot of our closest friends are from there and specifically from Bridgman Hall; half of our wedding party lived in Bridgman Hall. We were married June 23, 2006, in Minneapolis, Minn. We currently live in Minneapolis. Anne is a speech-language pathologist for the Minneapolis public schools and Drew works in the real estate department of Clear Channel Outdoor. UW-Eau Claire and Bridgman Hall will always hold a special place in our hearts.
