Raymond French '08 and Sarah (Chiodo) French '07, '09

Where and how did you meet while students at UW-Eau Claire? We met while doing our only theatre production on campus, but we remained close and bonded through our connection with the choral program. Sarah was president of Women's Concert Chorale and is self-proclaimed The Singing Statesmen's #1 fan, and Ray was an avid Statesman! So it was only fitting that we ended up together! :

Was it a “love connection” from the start? Yes! We started out as friends who were crazy about each other, so it was just natural that we started dating and ended up happily ever after! .

Is there a place on campus that is special for the two of you? Well, we met in Kjer Theatre. We had a lot of lunch dates in the Cabin. And we spent a lot of time in HFA 143 (the choir room), Gantner Concert Hall and Davies Center for Cabaret and Viennese Ball. I guess you could say the whole campus carries special meaning for us!  

What is your fondest memory as a couple that connects you to UW-Eau Claire?We were both very involved in music and Cabaret! At our wedding, we actually had a choir of 30 of our closest musical friends (in addition to most of our bridal party members also being choir friends from UWEC). The wedding choir were the ones who kept the dance floor moving at our reception, and we all even busted out into "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" (the Cabaret finale song!) It is one of our happiest memories!
