Scott Pingel, a 1996 UW-Eau Claire music graduate, debuted in September 2004 as the principal bassist with the San Francisco Symphony. Pingel, who received a master's degree in orchestral performance from the Manhattan School of Music in 1999, was principal bassist with the Charleston (S.C.) Symphony Orchestra before his move to San Francisco.
