About AITP
The Society of Information Management or SIM was organized in 1980 to promote association with professionals in the information systems field and to keep students informed with industry trends. To further its ability to achieve its goals, SIM became a chapter of the Association of Information Technology professionals or AITP. Today, under its new name, the University's AITP chapter continues this reputation by connecting its members with Information Technology professionals.
One of the main goals of the chapter is to introduce our members to companies in the Minnesota and Wisconsin area. Every other Thursday, AITP organizes a meeting to provide our members with the opportunity to listen to professionals in the IS industry. This relationship enables employers to interact with future employees.
Speakers present on a wide range of technology/business issues that affect their company. Each company provides a different perspective on these issues and helps members become aware of the issues currently affecting the industry.
The following companies provided speakers at AITP sponsored events.
- Federal Bureau of Investigation
