Choosing Your Major / Career


UW-Eau Claire has a variety of services to help students choose a major or a career or get a job after you graduate.

CAREER SERVICES: Career Services, located in Schofield 230, 836-5358, has career counselors who can help you decide on a major or career, help get you an internship, or start you on your job search. Career Services is a wonderful source of information about careers. Books, articles, computer programs and videos are available on almost any job you can think of.

ASK AN ALUM is a program that connects you with an Eau Claire alum in a field in which you are interested. You can arrange an informational interview or job shadow.

SIGI 3: This self-guided interactive website is designed to help you explore career options and make informed decisions. It enables you to:

  • assess your present values, interests and skills
  • systematically, research information on over 500 different occupations
  • participate in decision-making activities
  • set career goals and plan next steps
