McIntyre Library

Getting to know the library is crucial for success as a student. It can be an intimidating place, but it is also a source of tremendous information, both in the stacks and online. At the beginning of each semester library staff offer tours of the library.  We encourage you to take a tour early in your first semester.  Find out more about the tours at the Reference Desk, on the library website, or call 836-3858 for a tour schedule. Check out the library web page. http://www.uwec.edu/library.

Library Hours:

Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Monday – Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Friday 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m

There is a 24-hour study space outside the library in the lobby.

A one credit course LMED 100, is offered each semester that will give you a thorough introduction to the library and the wide variety of databases available on-line.

A family-friendly study room for students/faculty/staff with children is available on the 2nd floor (L2024). The room has a computer and printer, a study table, and a campus telephone to call the Reference desk for assistance without having to leave the area.  An adjoining play area has children’s books, toys, games, a chalkboard and a VCR (bring your own videos), all donated by library staff.  Rooms are available during all library open hours. Key check-out is for up to 3 hours (usually renewable) at the 1st floor Circulation counter with Blugold Card.

The Library Study Lounge, located on the fifth floor of the McIntyre Library, Room 5029, is accessible for all nontraditional students.  Relax, study, bring your lunch (microwave available), or just gather for camaraderie with friends.  Please contact Nontraditional Student Services, Schofield 226, 836-3259, to gain access to the room.
