The UW System has three main entities:
The two-year associate's degree is available on-line through the UW Colleges. See their website: www.online.uwc.edu for up-to-date information on their general education offerings for any given semester. Check out http://distancelearning.wisconsin.edu/ to see all the on-line options available through UW-System.
UW-Extension also offers undergraduate distance education courses through their Independent Learning Program. (These are traditional independent learning courses, some with audio cassette lectures). Visit them at: http://learn.wisconsin.edu/il.
UWin is an effort by the University of Wisconsin (UW) System to increase the number of Wisconsin residents with an undergraduate degree by making programs and services throughout the UW System more available to adults. This means converting traditional on-campus programs to methods that are more flexible by using distance learning technology. It also means offering programs at more times and locations than ever before. Visit the site at: https://uwin.wisconsin.edu/index.aspx.
If your plan to take a course through one of these sister institutions and transfer it back to UW-Eau Claire, you will want to check on the Transfer Information System (TIS) to see how a specific course will transfer to Eau Claire. The Transfer Information System website is very user-friendly and can be accessed at: http://www.uwsa.edu/tis/index.htm. Your adviser can also help you with this.
If you have questions about transferability, you can contact the Registrar's Office at 715-836-4524 or the Nontraditional Student Services Office at 715-836-3259.
