Nontraditional Student Services offers a Parent Locator Service from 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. to students who are also parents. The purpose of the service is to help ease parent’s minds while they are in classes on campus and are not directly reachable by their children’s school or child care providers.
To register for the Parent Locator Service, fill out a Parent Locator Form each semester indicating where and when you can be located on campus and return it to Nontraditional Student Services,
S 226.
Once your semester’s schedule is on file, you may give your child’s school or child care provider the Nontraditional Student Service phone number (836-3259) and, should an emergency arise, the school/child care provider may call the Nontraditional Student Service Office. We will check to see that we have a current schedule on file, and that you are listed as being on campus at the time of the call. We will take a message and deliver it as soon as possible to you in your class. If we are unable to locate you, we will call the caretaker back and tell them so.
It is your responsibility to register a current schedule with us each semester. Also, if you are using this service, please explain to you child care provider how the Parent locator works, and that it should be used for emergencies (which we hope will never arise!). Best of luck in your studies at UW-Eau Claire!
