Student Locator Service

Nontraditional Student Services offers a Student Locator Service from 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. to nontraditional students.  The purpose of the service is to help ease students' minds while they are in classes on campus and are not directly reachable by their family member(s), children’s school, or child care/elder care providers. Not all students carry cell phones, and even so, they must be turned off during class.

To register for the Student Locator Service, fill out a Student Locator Form each semester indicating where and when you can be located on campus and return it to Nontraditional Student Services, S 226.

Once your semester’s schedule is on file, you may give your family member(s), child’s school, or child care provider the Nontraditional Student Service phone number (836-3259) and, should an emergency arise, the family member/school/child care provider may call the Nontraditional Student Service Office.  We will check your current schedule on file, and if you are listed as being on campus at the time of the call, we will take a message and deliver it as soon as possible to you in your class.  If we are unable to locate you, we will inform the caller.

It is your responsibility to register a current schedule with us each semester. Also, if you are using this service, please explain to the family member, child's school, or child care provider how the Student Locator works, and that it should be used only for emergencies (which we hope will never arise!).  Best of luck in your studies at UW-Eau Claire!
