By Deborah Chopper, Nontraditional Student
Campus Events & Activities
The Nontraditional Student Services Office (NSS) serves as the academic advising office to admitted and special nontraditional students who have not yet declared a major. At UW-Eau Claire nontraditional students are defined as those who are 25 or older, or under age 25 but are married and/or are a parent. Also included are those persons who are veterans or who have had a significant break in their education. These students all have needs and characteristics not necessarily shared by "traditional" college students.
The adviser also meets with prospective nontraditional students from the community and serves as an institutional advocate and resource person for all nontraditional students on campus. Programs and services are offered throughout the year to help nontraditional students be successful in their chosen fields of study.
The NSS adviser is available for individual appointments, phone consultation and email correspondence between the following:
Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
