UW-Eau Claire’s marketing program, is ranked in top 20 sales programs in the U.S., and provides you with the marketing and general business knowledge you need to compete in today’s job market. The annual salary range for an entry-level marketing trainee with a bachelor’s degree is $37,083-$40,125.

Competitive experiences

Our sales program has been awarded as a top university sales education program by the University Sales Education Foundation. We are one of 60 sales programs in the U.S. and Europe to receive this recognition. Marketing and professional sales students test their skills at regional and national collegiate competitions. We are host to the Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up, a competition that attracts students from across the Midwest. Our students also compete in a variety of regional and national sales competitions such as Russ Berrie Institute National Sales Challenge at New Jersey, and the National Sales Competition in Georgia.

Our outstanding faculty are proud of the individual attention they provide. Marketing faculty were awarded the UW-Eau Claire Excellence in Teaching two years in a row. In addition, the marketing faculty regularly consult and work with an active industry advisory board, ensuring teaching curriculum is current with industry.

Technology advantage

Students in the Department of Management and Marketing benefit from technologically sophisticated learning environments. The Mason Companies Cyberlab hosts an array of web-based, enterprise-wide and business-focused software and databases. We are one of 10 schools nationwide to provide our marketing analytics students with Nielsen's propriety software and research database. Our goal is to integrate technology throughout the curriculum and help you become a competitive, fast technology learner.

Research opportunities

Through coursework students develop and conduct market research for location organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Chippewa Valley Theatre; in addition they hone skills by selling actual products/services.

Special admission requirements

You must be formally admitted to the College of Business before you can take junior and senior level management and business courses. Most students apply for admission at the end of their sophomore year. Check the College of Business admission requirements.
