The on-campus Sociology Organization for Students (SOS) sponsors
numerous opportunities for student involvement.
In the spring, qualifying
sociology majors may apply for the Albert and Marie Blumenthal
Sociology Scholarship, which is worth approximately $800.
Students
can participate in the Rowan Student Paper Competition, which is
open to all department majors and minors. Monetary awards are made
to the winners.
Field practicum opportunities allow students to
complete internships in private or public organizations under the
supervision of faculty and agency representatives.
Unlike many other
public universities, classes are not taught by teaching assistants.
Students work along-side interesting professors who inspire learning.
