Academic Programs

Sociology

  • The on-campus Sociology Organization for Students (SOS) sponsors numerous opportunities for student involvement.
  • In the spring, qualifying sociology majors may apply for the Albert and Marie Blumenthal Sociology Scholarship, which is worth approximately $800.
  • Students can participate in the Rowan Student Paper Competition, which is open to all department majors and minors. Monetary awards are made to the winners.
  • Field practicum opportunities allow students to complete internships in private or public organizations under the supervision of faculty and agency representatives.
  • Unlike many other public universities, classes are not taught by teaching assistants. Students work along-side interesting professors who inspire learning.
