Academic Programs

Religious Studies

  • The faculty of the department of philosophy and religious studies is of a high caliber. It includes professors who graduated from Cambridge, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern and Marquette Universities.
  • Advanced courses in the department are small and personable with between 20 and 25 students, providing many opportunities for one-on-one learning.
  • Introductory-level and advanced students have the opportunity to publish articles in the department's journal, Prism.
  • Students can gain credit(s) in apprenticeship courses within the department, the most popular being the teaching apprenticeship courses.
  • UW-Eau Claire classes, unlike those at many other public universities, are not taught by teaching assistants. Students work alongside interesting professors who inspire learning.
  • The department has a Religious Studies Club and a chapter of the Religious Studies Honors Society — Theta Alpha Kappa.
