Pre-Medicine

• Many students select UW-Eau Claire because of its excellent reputation, comfortable size, convenient location and lower cost.
• Our pre-medicine program has been very successful in preparing students for careers in medicine. UW-Eau Claire ranks third in the state for the number of students accepted into medical school.
• Each pre-medicine student is assigned an adviser who provides individualized attention to students and is available to answer questions about medical programs, courses and other concerns. Advisers also have up-to-date information on the admission requirements of local medical schools.
• The high quality of the university’s liberal arts education provides students a cultural awareness and breadth of knowledge that graduate and professional schools find desirable.
• Students in science-related pre-professional programs benefit from UW-Eau Claire's strong science programs as well as from the excellent facilities and well-equipped laboratories. Instructors who are experts in their fields take personal interest in students and pride in their success.
• Class sizes for beginning courses at UW-Eau Claire are typically much smaller than those at larger universities, and lectures are taught exclusively by faculty members.
• Seven privately-funded scholarships are currently available for qualified sophomore, junior and senior pre-medicine students.
