Academic Programs

Nursing - Marshfield site

  • Saint Joseph’s Hospital is part of a large medical complex which includes multispecialty clinics, a world-renowned research foundation, and state-of-the-art medical and nursing libraries. It also functions as a major teaching center.
  • Receive a BSN while living in central Wisconsin.
  • With the Marshfield Site, the nationally recognized UW-Eau Claire nursing program graduates more than 100 BSN students a year, many of whom receive multiple job offers.
  • UW-Eau Claire nursing graduates are actively recruited for positions all over the country, and nearly 100% have jobs or are continuing their education within a year of graduation.
  • Survey responses from employers are overwhelmingly positive.
  • The nursing baccalaureate and master’s programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing.
  • Nursing students benefit from high-tech two-way interactive video distance education classrooms and a state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Lab.
  • In addition to classrooms, the Marshfield Site includes computer labs, clinical skills /simulation lab, student lounge, conference room, and faculty offices.
  • Textbook service available.
  • Nursing students have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on research projects and service-learning activities that benefit the community
  • Nursing students participate in clinical experiences at diverse health care settings in the Marshfield area.
  • Many nursing students from the Marshfield Site participate in cultural immersion experiences in health care facilities in Alaska, South Texas, and Costa Rica, to name a few.
  • The Nursing Honors Program enables high achieving students to complement and enhance their learning opportunities.
  • UW-Eau Claire participates in the statewide collaborative nursing program, a completion program that enables registered nurses with an associate degree or diploma in nursing to earn a baccalaureate degree. Upper division nursing courses for the BSN are made available at various sites throughout Wisconsin via online technologies. At least one course is available at the Marshfield Site every semester via live two-way interactive video.
