Academic Programs

Nursing - Accelerated BSN

  • UW-Eau Claire is the only public university in northwestern and northcentral Wisconsin that offers a baccalaureate nursing degree.
  • The nationally recognized nursing program graduates more than 100 BSN students a year, many of whom receive multiple job offers.
  • UW-Eau Claire nursing graduates are actively recruited for positions all over the country, and nearly 100% have jobs or are continuing their education within a year of graduation.
  • Survey responses from employers are overwhelmingly positive.
  • The UW-Eau Claire College of Nursing and Health Sciences nursing baccalaureate and master’s programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Nursing students benefit from high-tech classrooms and a state-of-the- art Clinical Simulation Lab.
  • Nursing students have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on research projects and service-learning activities that benefit the community.
  • Nursing students participate in clinical experiences at diverse health care settings in the Chippewa Valley and at sites throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota.
  • Many nursing students learn and work in health care facilities in Alaska, South Texas, and Costa Rica, to name a few.
  • Nursing students can participate in the Spanish for Health Professions minor or certificate program offered through the foreign languages department.
  • The Nursing Honors Program and the Nurse Scholars Program enable high achieving students to complement and enhance their learning opportunities.
  • UW-Eau Claire participates in the statewide collaborative nursing program, a completion program that enables registered nurses with an associate degree or diploma in nursing to earn a baccalaureate degree. Using distance education technologies, upper division nursing courses for the BSN are made available at various sites throughout Wisconsin.
  • A satellite program is available in Marshfield, Wisconsin in cooperation with Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Courses are taught by UW-Eau Claire faculty located in Marshfield, by faculty from Eau Claire who travel to Marshfield, and via interactive distance education classrooms.
