UW-Eau Claire has the largest undergraduate program in the UW System.
The music department is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
Music at UW-Eau Claire has been recognized for its high quality in national publications, including Money magazine and Down Beat magazine.
Students have access to outstanding theater facilities including Kjer Theatre, a 400-seat proscenium theater; Riverside Theatre, a 200-seat thrust stage; and Gantner Hall, a 600-seat concert hall; as well as rehearsal rooms, a practice room suite and a MIDI computer laboratory.
UW-Eau Claire has an outstanding level of musical performance including more than 125 concerts and recitals presented each year by student soloists, student ensembles, faculty artists and guest artists, providing students with endless opportunities to hear and participate in high-quality music.
Several UW-Eau Claire ensembles have acquired national and international reputations, and many regularly present concerts off campus in regional or international tours.
Unlike many other public universities, classes are not taught by teaching assistants. Students work alongside professors who inspire learning.
