In addition to the professional actuarial exams, actuaries must complete approved coursework in applied statistical methods, corporate finance, and economics. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire offers courses which meet these requirements, listed below:

  • Corporate finance: Fin 320 and Fin 327 - Principles of Finance and Long Term Financial Management
  • Economics: Econ 103 or 303, and Econ 104 or 304 - Microeconomics and Macroeconomics

To receive VEE credit, the student must earn a B- or better in the course. Prerequisites for these courses may be found in the current course catalogue.
