Course Information

Students in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Actuarial Program may choose to complete a comprehensive mathematics major or a minor. The comprehensive major satisfies all VEE requirements and includes coursework to prepare students for the first two actuarial exams and a portion of the third . Students who select the minor must ensure that they complete VEE requirements indepedently, since not all VEE courses are included.


Comprehensive Major in Actuarial Science

Students in the comprehensive major must complete the following courses (minimum 60 credits, not including any prerequisites):

  • Econ 103 or 303 - Microeconomics
  • Econ 104 or 304 - Macroeconomics
  • Econ 316 - Econometrics
  • Acct 201 - Principles of Accounting I
  • Acct 202 - Principles of Accounting II
  • MIS 240 - Information Systems in Business
  • Fin 320 - Principles of Finance
  • Fin 327 - Long Term Financial Management
