Sara Thommesen is the Student Organizations Coordinator within the Activities & Programs Office and began her employment at UW-Eau Claire in 1998. Sara is responsible for the day to day administrative support functions for the 240+ student organization on the UWEC campus.

Previous to arriving at UW-Eau Claire, Sara was employed at the Eau Claire Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (now “Visit Eau Claire”) as a Convention Sales & Service Manager, Crown Plaza Northstar Hotel/Marcus Corp Minneapolis as a Hotel Sales Manager, and Courtyard by Marriott/Mendota Heights, MN as a Front Office Supervisor/Sales Coordinator.

Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Industrial Psychology from UW-Madison (1992) and would like to someday pursue a Master’s Degree or additional higher education classes in the area of Human Resources.

Outside of the office, Sara keeps very busy with her husband Scott and her two children, Trynne and Tyler (and cats Pancho & Fluffy). Sara is also on the UWEC Children’s Center Advisory Committee, Altoona Petersen Elementary PTO and Girl Scout Cookie Chairperson.
