Scholarships and Awards The Viennese Ball, founded in 1974
and presented annually by the
University
of Wisconsin-Eau Claire,
is a formal event that recalls the
cultural and musical heritage of 19th-century Vienna. Proceeds from the
two-night event and donations to the Viennese Ball are used to support awards and global study opportunities
for deserving University of Wisconsin-

These monies support the Viennese
Ball Senior Music Awards, the Ada
Bors Music Service Award, Viennese Ball Freshman Talent Scholarships, Viennese Ball Music Scholarships, the Wilhelm and Ingrid Brauner Awards,
the Heinz K. Seitinger Awards, and the W.R. Davies University Center
Service Scholarships. AVL–List Awards are paid directly to the Foundation
by the Karl–Franzens–Universität–Graz. These awards and scholarships
are described below.
Music and Theatre Arts
VIENNESE BALL SENIOR MUSIC AWARDS
Senior Music Awards are made for talent, academic achievement, and contributions to the Department of Music and Theatre Arts. | 6 awards annually
ADA BORS MUSIC SERVICE AWARD
Awarded to a senior student for outstanding service to the Department of Music and Theatre Arts. This award is named in recognition of Ada Bors for her 25 years as founder/coordinator of the Viennese Ball. | 1 award annually
VIENNESE BALL FRESHMAN TALENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Awarded to incoming freshmen in the Department of Music and Theatre Arts

International Studies
WILHELM & INGRID BRAUNER AWARDS
Awarded for international study preferably in Austria or another German-speaking country for outstanding academic achievement and service to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. HEINZ K. SEITINGER AWARDS
Awarded to exchange students from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to the Karl-Franzens-Universität-Graz, for outstanding academic achievement and service to the university. This award is named in recognition of service by former Austrian Trade Commissioner Heinz K. Seitinger on behalf of our international programs, particularly those between UW–Eau Claire and his alma mater,
