An exciting new leadership opportunity is available for this fall! A new
one-credit course has been created for students to engage in leadership
in a whole new way. IDIS 230: Developing Self as a Leader, based on the
Social Change Model, is a 20-student
experiential course that will provide students the opportunity to explore leadership development and foster
their own and others’ leadership capabilities.
Topics for this course include leadership self-assessment, values clarification, leadership skill development, and discovering campus leadership opportunities, among others. Students who successfully complete this course will have the opportunity to apply newly developed skills and knowledge in a subsequent course focusing on community leadership in Spring 2009.
The course seminar will be held on Thursdays from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. during
the fall 2008 semester. If you are available during this time and are interested
in this opportunity, please fill out the application and return it by Friday, May 16, 2008. Applications may be submitted electronically to bongal@uwec.edu
or via campus mail/in person to Angie Bong, 133 W.R. Davies Center.
Questions may also be directed to Angie via email or phone at 715.836.3855.
