Revelations of Mann Wednesday, January 30, 2008
Schofield Auditorium | 7:30 P.M.
"David Mann is a hoot, a gem, a joy to watch."
- Saint Paul Pioneer Press
In Revelations of Mann, the audience meets a yearbook full of characters. This comedy is a wonderful coming-of-age story about a young actor (a Lutheran teaching in a Catholic high school) facing issues of career, life, and faith.
In one episode depicting his job interview, Mann nails the precise details of the crotchety theater-department head, the skeptical principal, and the long-suffering school secretary, effortlessly shifting his voice and carriage to amplify their quirks without sacrificing subtlety.
Later the audience meets the student cast of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Who’d have thought you could have such fun in a Catholic school?
A professional director, actor and playwright, Mann is currently touring two original solo shows,
Revelations of Mann and Temporary Insanity.
