Math leaders

You love math — and here you will learn from faculty and staff who are just as passionate about it as you are. They’ll challenge you to think differently and introduce you to new math interests, research projects, and special events. Faculty and staff enjoy working closely with you inside and outside the classroom, and they have dedicated office hours so you’ll feel supported in many ways.

Their advisors and faculty care about every single student and want to help you out even if you are not in their class. Sometimes that support is exactly what you need to get you to succeed. UWEC Math department is the epitome of caring and helpfulness.

Teaching Interests

I strongly believe that mathematics, like any other science, cannot exist in isolation, and can only live through an active exchange of ideas between the people who pursue it. I have experience in teaching a wide range of classes, from freshmen level ones to advanced courses, including honors courses, specialized topics courses, and independent studies. I have a broad range of teaching interests from calculus to elementary statistics to upper division math courses such as modern geometry, linear algebra, analysis (real ad complex), Fourier analysis, and differential equations (both ordinary or partial DEs), His lively interest in teaching and research has prompted him to involve undergraduate students in conducting, presenting, and in the near future) publishing mathematics in medical imaging research.

Research Interests

My main research area is in the mathematics of medical imaging. In particular, my research is in some mathematical aspects of a particular inverse problem involving electrical impedance tomography. I am also interest in certain issues in mathematics education such as innovative approaches in calculus and mathematics courses that follow calculus.
