Garfield Avenue project affects travel on lower campus.

Be a part of one of the fastest growing language majors. Spanish is a popular world language and understanding it better will give you insight that's applicable to any career.

You will also be required to take what you've learned and put it into practice through a language immersion experience in a country where Spanish is spoken, or participate in an approved alternative language immersion experience. Spanish, Liberal Arts Major

36 credits

Study two years of basic Spanish language for practical usage followed by writing, civilization, literature, and phonetics. Depending on your future career plans, you can choose an emphasis in either liberal arts, business/professions or linguistics.

Spanish, Minor

24 credits

Provides a general introduction to the Spanish language and culture. This is a great minor to pair with any major.

Spanish, Teaching Major

36 credits

Gain a solid understanding of Spanish that will allow you to read, speak, write and understand the language. You will then take additional courses to gain licensure to teach the language in early childhood through adolescent-level classrooms. Spanish teaching majors must also be a part of the College of Education and Human Sciences.

Spanish, Teaching Minor

24 credits

A good addition to any teaching major. This minor is restricted to students in the College of Education and Human Sciences. The following areas of concentration are available:

Early Adolescence/ Adolescence

Education Studies: Option B or C and leads to licensure to teach Spanish in this area of concentration. 

Middle Childhood/ Early Adolescence

Education Studies: Option A and leads to licensure to teach Spanish in this area of concentration

Early Childhood Childhood/ Adolescence

Education Studies: Option C and leads to licensure to teach Spanish in this area of concentration when combined with a major in another foreign language at the early childhood through adolescent level.

Spanish for Health Professionals Minor

24 credits

Pair your love of medicine and language to create a major/minor combination that will take you far in the medical field.
