As Interim Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Undergraduate Studies, I am a member of the Provost's staff and the Deans Council, helping to provide oversight for efforts that blend learning in and out of the classroom. I also provide oversight and leadership for a number of co-curricular units that work collaboratively with academic departments and colleges to enhance student learning. These include: Advising/New Student Initiatives/Orientation; Blugold Fellows; Career Services; Center for International Education; Educational Opportunities Center; Educational Support Services; First Year Experience; Honors Program; Mc Nair Program; Service Learning; Student Support Services; and Upward Bound.
The UW-Eau Claire Centennial Plan creates some great opportunities for innovation and creativity. In the next couple of years, I’ll be working with the General Education Reform Work Group to reinvent general education for our students. Another project I’ll be working with involves identifying best practices for UW-Eau Claire to provide global learning experiences for students, along with pilot projects for immersion experiences. In all my endeavors, I strive to infuse equity, diversity, and inclusiveness.
