Responsibilities at UW-Eau Claire

Steven Tallant, became Provost and Vice Chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in April 2005, he previously served as Provost and Vice Chancellor from May-November 2004. He reports directly to Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich, serves as a member of the Chancellor's executive staff, and as Provost, acts in place of the Chancellor in his absence. As the leader and administrator of the university's undergraduate and graduate academic programs, his duties as Provost and Vice Chancellor include oversight of a budget of more than $50 million and leadership of the Colleges, which are comprised of 32 academic departments and numerous centers. He handles all personnel actions pertaining to faculty and academic staff, and he supervises such academic support units as International Education, Records and Registration, Admissions, Academic and Career Services, the Dean of Students Office, and Advising.
