Probationary tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or above, depending on experience, education, and scholarship are available. Two positions are currently available beginning in the academic year 2008-2009, and an additional five positions have also become available (as of 1/22/08) due to the recent acquisition of additional funds to expand the nursing program. These positions are 9 month appointments. Summer appointments may be available.
The College of Nursing and Health Sciences offers CCNE accredited BSN and MSN programs to over 800 students. We offer a traditional BSN program in Eau Claire and Marshfield, WI. We have faculty at both sites, and the classrooms are connected by live, interactive video. In addition, we collaborate in a statewide RN/BSN program, and provide both distance and onsite RN/BSN/MSN programming. At the graduate level, students select Adult or Family Specialization and role preparation in one of the following areas: nursing education, nursing administration, and advanced clinical practice (preparation for certification as nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist). As an integral part of a liberal arts-based, comprehensive university, our nursing programs support collaborative relationships among faculty and students in the College, within the University, and in both professional and practice communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The available faculty positions include teaching in classroom and clinical settings using on-site and distance education strategies. In addition to teaching, these faculty roles include scholarship, service, and advising. Faculty have the opportunity to work with students on research through the UW-Eau Claire faculty-student collaboration program. Nursing faculty foster student-centered learning communities in undergraduate and graduate programs and participate in a strong shared governance model at the University and UW system levels.
