Department of Accounting and Finance

A probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Accounting is available to begin at with the 2009-2010 academic year, August 24, 2009.

The Department of Accounting and Finance offers comprehensive undergraduate majors in both accounting and finance. The present faculty consists of 12 full-time positions serving 400 accounting majors and 300 finance majors. The Department also provides instruction for the MBA and entrepreneurship programs of the College.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Areas of teaching may include financial, managerial or governmental accounting depending on qualifications.
  • Teaching in the MBA program is part of this position, as is teaching online (either undergraduate or MBA).
  • The successful applicant will also participate in research and scholarly activities consistent with AACSB expectations, provide academic advising to students as assigned, engage in service to the university, the profession and the community, and participate in department, college, and university committee work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A doctorate in Accounting or a related field must be received no later than December 31, 2009.
  2. Professional certification (CPA, CMA), evidence of scholarly activity and relevant work experience are all considered assets.
  3. Applicants should demonstrate capacity for high quality teaching (as evidenced by teaching evaluations if available).
