Instructional Academic Staff Vacancies

Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders

A part-time (60%) instructional academic staff position in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a title in the instructional academic staff Clinical Instructor title series is available beginning August 18, 2008 through May 19, 2009.

The department currently has four doctoral faculty (six doctoral positions), 5 instructional academic staff members, approximately 200 undergraduate majors, and 30 master’s students. The department also has an active speech, language, and hearing clinic with 16 treatment rooms, observation areas, an AAC lab with observation room, a well-equipped voice/speech science lab, an audiology lab, and an instructional technology lab.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in the academic and clinical instruction of undergraduate and master’s students in our CAA accredited program in speech-language pathology.
  • Academic instruction responsibilities will include audiology, speech science, aural rehabilitation, as well as clinical instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Audiology master's degree required from a regionally accredited institution and CCC-Audiology required.
  2. Ph.D. considered an asset.
  3. Prior university teaching experience will be considered an asset as will expertise in the areas of audiology, speech science, and aural rehabilitation.
  4. Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
  5. The ability to enhance the diversity of the unit and serve as a role model and mentor for women and/or minorities will be considered an asset.
