We're introducing a new format for communicating important, timely information affecting CommonSpot publishers so you don't feel abandoned after completing the Basics and Intermediate CommonSpot workshops.
Please review the items in this issue. Also consider signing up for Assisted Work Time sessions when you feel you need one-on-one assistance. Refer to the Workshop Schedule and Training Registration System linked to the right.
Upgrade to CS 6.2
A new version of CommonSpot is about to be released. This will introduce a richer interface and an improved rich text editor. Watch for details in the next issue regarding options for the rollout and training.
New Conversions = Broken Links
Several sites were converted to CommonSpot this summer -- see converted sites for a complete listing.
During a conversion, pages often move and can cause broken links on other web pages. Please check your pages often for broken links.
Linking Tip
When linking to pages on another UW-Eau Claire CommonSpot site, use the CommonSpot pick list. Do not copy and paste the URL for this type of link. However, you may see another's site’s pages in the pick list, when it may not yet be live. So be sure to refer to the conversion list linked above and if it is not yet in the list, the copy and paste method may be appropriate.
New: Assisted Work Time Sessions for Fall Semester
The next set of Assisted Work Time sessions have just been published. Check the Workshop Schedule for the times that meet your needs, then be sure to register through the Training Registration System.
Training for New Publishers
Do you have a new student or staff member who needs CommonSpot training? Remember, Basics and Intermediate workshops are a must. Please contact Gene Leisz to schedule a time.
Additional assistance after that is provided through Assisted Work Time sessions and other special workshops.
