Student-Faculty Research on Campus Commuting Habits

In fall 2011, Dr. Mumford taught an Honors course called "Cars, Culture, and the Environment."  In this course, students conducted research through short intercept interviews with drivers who parked in the University's parking lots to find out how far they had driven and if they would consider other methods of transportation.  The students found that many of the drivers lived close to the Eau Claire bus routes.  They also found that more males than females would consider biking as an alternative to driving.  To view the data and learn more, here is the Commuting Research Methods and Results powerpoint.
