The regular meeting of the University Senate Executive Committee was called to order by Chair Wood at 3:04 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in the Presidents Room of Davies Center.

- Open Forum
- No business discussed
- Review of tentative agenda for April 22, 2008 meeting of University Senate
- Approved as distributed with addition of the Orders of the Day; UW System Representatives visit
- Finalizing University-wide Elections
- Affirmed that business is done
MOTION by Senator Harrison that the University Senate Executive Committee has fulfilled the duties that were asked of them at the Spring meeting of the University Faculty and Academic Staff meeting: resolving the issue of incomplete faculty nominations seconded and PASSED without dissention.
Discussion
- Sets a bad precedent that the Executive Committee had to fill the vacancies instead of the Nominating Committee
- Issues like this have happened in the past
- Nominating Committee needs to get outside of their own group/department
- Mention that the Department Chair meet with Committee members to discuss the importance of elections and the role they hold in their Committee
- There are not consequences/rewards for those who do/do not fulfill obligations on committees except for that department’s level of representation
