The inspiration speaker, Zach Wahls, whose viral "Zach Wahls Speaks About Family" video has almost 18 million views on YouTube, will perform April 8, 2013, at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The University Activities Commission of the Student Senate will present his show at 7:30 p.m. in Schofield Auditorium.

A Wisconsin born LGBTQ activist and inspirational speaker is now based in Iowa City, Iowa. He continues to speak in public forums and travel to colleges to spread his message of acceptance and strength.

Zach is staying plenty busy after the video of his testimony went viral, traveling the country talking to many different audiences about his (rather boring) experience growing up with two lesbian mothers, why the struggle for LGBTQ rights is so important and where he thinks the fight goes from here. He’s working with a number of different LGBTQ rights groups in a consulting role and continues to work on protecting and advancing those rights at home in Iowa.

He’s also currently the program coordinator for the Iowa City chapter of Summer of Solutions. You can keep track of the work he’s doing by visiting their website:

Iowa City Learns, Zach’s small business, is continuing to grow and prosper. 2010-2011 was a record-breaking year and they’ve got their eyes set on an even better year in 2011-2012.

Come University Activities Commission in welcoming him and hear him speak on August 8, 2013, in Schofield Auditorium.
