Math Placement Tests for Transfer Students

Many courses in addition to mathematics courses have a math prerequisite.  Please read this information carefully to determine if you need a math placement test.

  1. If you have received credit for Math 109, 111, 112, 113 or 114 you do not need to take the placement test.
  2. If you have received credit for a remedial course---- Math 10 or 20--- you are not required to take a placement test, but may choose to do so to be more accurately placed into courses at UW-Eau Claire.
  3. If you have received credit for Math 104 or 246 and do not need to go on in math, you do not need to take the placement test, but will need a prerequisite over-ride to take such courses as Economics or Chemistry.
  4. If you have received credit for Math 106 or for a math elective (Math905L) you need to take the placement test.
