United Council Delegation

The United Council of UW Students is one of the nation's oldest, largest and most effective state student associations, representing approximately 110,000 students on 21 of 26 University of Wisconsin campuses. Founded in 1960, the organization strives to make a positive impact for students in the state of Wisconsin.

United Council and its eight full-time staff members are governed by a board of directors. Its policy is set by the General Assembly and executed by students throughout its member campuses.

The United Council Delegation for UWEC serves as the student representatives to the UW-System, Board of Regents, and to other UW delegations/student governments. Their main goal is to ensure that UWEC students have representation on a state-wide scale and to bring UWEC issues to the forefront of campaigns and to see that they have resolution.

United Council uses different tactics such as grass roots organizing and all the delegates have basic training in conducting campaigns, lobby visits, writing legislation, and media interactions.
