Soap  |  February 13 & 14

Soap

Four gifted musicians... one unique sound...
Soap delivers a kinetic blend of diverse songwriting, and virtuosic ability. It's obvious to anyone with ears that a new day has come; not just for Soap, but for rock and roll itself. “Lather,” Soap’s second full length CD, was recorded at Apocalypse Cow, in Montgomery, IL, and mixed and mastered by Bill McElroy at Slipped Disc in Ashland, VA. Three singles “Out of Luck”, “Penguin”, and “Miles Dankis” from the album were released for radio airplay in March 2006.Soap consists of Austin Lee on drums, Skyler Krapf on piano, Ross Taylor on bass and lead vocals, and Erich Krapf on lead guitar. They are from Chicagoland, IL, currently living in Minneapolis, MN. Website

Skittish  |  March 27 & 28

Skittish

Much like the suburbs from whence it sprang, Skittish is a bleeding, sweating, writhing ball of human nature, bursting at the seams, but ultimately suppressed and packaged in neatly crafted boxes. Songs and suburbs have seedy underbellies to spare. Skittish masks every bruise and blackened eye with handclaps and harmonies; every well trimmed lawn and uber-catchy melody are woven together by subversive humor and an undercurrent of anarchy. Yes, this is quite ambitious, but anything less wouldn’t matter. And to matter, in this prepackaged world, is an admirable ambition indeed. Website

Emilia Dahlin  |  May 1 & 2

Emilia Dahlin

Born on a small farm south of Boston to a musical instrument collecting father and accordion playing mother, Emilia Dahlin was destined for a life of music. She started piano at the age of five and trained classically for the next thirteen years. It was Christmas day, 1996, when Emilia decided she wanted to play the guitar. She went up to the attic, pulled out a warped and worn guitar, that once belonged to her great grandfather, and started to play. She never stopped. Emilia weaves mesmerizing tales (complete with Greek myths, robotic messiahs, epic floods, and tax evaders) with raw, rootsy folk and dynamic jazz vocals. She resides in Portland, Maine where she was voted "Best Singer/Songwriter of 2006" and "Best Female Vocalist of 2005/2006". Website
