Culturally Responsive Teaching Statement (Approved 9/10/2013)

Cultural sensitivity in education is based on a comprehensive awareness of the individual student, their family background, and their community. For an educator to be ethical and effective, they must be sensitive to the needs of the student while taking into consideration the student's culture.  Cultural sensitivity requires using the most effective acceptable means to help students achieve socially validated objectives.
