Dakota Ballroom
Located on the third level of W. R. Davies Student Center, the Dakota Ballroom comprises the Dakota Room (340) and Dakota Room A (340A) and seats 225 people. It is the smaller of two ballroom spaces in Davies Center.
The Dakota and Ojibwe Rooms are named to honor the people who made peace at the historic site where Davies Center stands. After a bitter and brutal war that spanned 150 years, the Dakota and Ojibwe settled on a treaty line thought to be at the mouth of the
Little Niagara Creek on the Chippewa River. The Council Oak tree and its surroundings served as a shelter and gathering place for generations of Native Americans.
