A Notary Public is a public servant appointed by state government to witness the signing of important documents. Documents are notarized to deter fraud and to ensure they are properly executed. The Notary is an impartial witness who identifies signers to screen out impostors and to make sure they have entered into agreements knowingly and willingly. Many documents, including affidavits, deeds and powers of attorney, may not be legally binding unless they are properly notarized.
Notary service is available at the Campus Box Office + Info desk and at Blugold Card Services. You must present valid photo identification with signature (government issued Drivers license or passport). Do not sign the document until you are with the Notary, who will witness your signature.
The cost for Notary service is 50 cents per signature.
