Academy of Human Resource Development "Leading the HRD Profession through Research," membership includes academics and practitioners. AHRD publishes Advances in Human Resource Development and International Human Resource Development; jointly (with ASTD) publishes Human Resource Development Quarterly.  Site includes links to journal sites (some articles available on line), conference proceedings.  Includes links to universities offering HRD programs (yes, UWEC is included) and professional organizations.  
Academy of ManagementPublishes Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, and Academy of Management Executive.  Divisions include Human Resources Division, Management Consulting Division, Organization Development & Change Division, Research Methods Division. American Society for Training and Development.  Established in 1944, a large professional organization with more than 100 interest groups.  Publishes monthly Training and Development magazine, Technical Training, Learning Circuits, and co-publishes (with AHRD) Human Resource Development Quarterly.  Includes on-line research and links.

National Training Laboratories.   Founded in 1947, The NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science has conducted group and organization development research and interventions to improve the functioning of individuals, groups, organizations, and communities.
Organization Development Network.  Site offers on-line news of the profession, an OD resources directory, and both a cumulative index and sample articles from OD Practitioner. Looking for local affiliates of the OD Network?  If so check the Directory of Regional OD Networks.
Tavistock Institute,  Founded in 1947, the Tavistock Institute is a British organization of researchers applying social science ideas and theories to problems and policies.  The site includes bibliographies, research reports, information about training and development programs.

Training MagazineSome good links and announcements. You need a subscription to access the articles online from this site, but you can use it to determine what you want to look at next time you are the UWEC library's periodical collections. 
TrainingSpace.  A consulting company specialized in e-learning, web-based training program.  Their page of resources includes several interesting links.
TrainingZone  is one of several of the Sift Group's business-to-business online communities (others include Accountancy, Law, and Customer Relations, etc.) offering members relevant news, events, discussion forums, and databases of downloadable resources.  The Training Zone (and HRZONE) was launched in May 1998, targeted at the UK training and HR community. A weekly news wire (the TrainingZONE Learning Wire) is now sent to the 40,000 active registered users of TrainingZONE.
