David T. Chollar, MSW, LCSW is Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Internship, Department of Social Work, University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. David arrived at UWEC in August 2007 and was a former Assistant Professor and Chairperson in the Department of Social Work, St. Cloud State University.
Originally from Texas, David moved to New York in the mid 1980s and it was through various volunteer opportunities with people with AIDS that he became interested in the social work profession. He has varied and extensive hospital and clinic based social work practice experience in New York and Minnesota with people with AIDS, people with mental illness, and marginalized populations.
David's scholarly interests include pedagogy, AIDS, diversity and the LGBTQ community.
David lives with his partner and their two dachshunds.
